Dear Friends,
Thanks for your patience, and help with the impulse
noise I am getting.

BUT while I don't know if it has to do with my
problem..(don't really know that Gulf Power would be
large enough to be involved), the BPL thing is a real
eye opener. It should worry anyone using HF for any
purpose, seems to me...

While I had heard the term, and was aware of ELF
problems, as well as some other experimental QRN, I
had no idea that, as shown by the communications on
the SLASHDOT source marked by Robert Meyer, the
average citizen was so unconcerned with all forms of
radio and the interference radio services deal with.

In my opinion it is simply another example of the lack
of concern modern man has for things not directly a
part of his own narrow life.

In addition, I was not aware of the 2 to 70 Mhz spread
that was mentioned. That is absolutly out of the
question for any HF enthusiast to even begin to allow.

I will be writing and looking to find out more about
this pratice...(It reminds me of the old USSR attempts
to send power line level electricity through the
air..While it is said it worked, seems they killed a
number of eng. and disrupted thsir own comm. really
bad, and gave up..)

Hope to see and find more on this subject, and much
thanks to Mr. Meyer for bringing it to our attention.
