ISTR people swearing by (and some swearing at) their HP 8640B. I
really think mine is the best non-synthesized RF generator I've
used, in almost 40 years of pushing elctrons and making stuff work.
My AN/URM-25D is a fine piece of test gear, but the 8640B is IMHO
at least one cut above.
