[R-390] Re: UPS is Garbage

Yes, I got it back together, and it's performing really good except for some
misalignment, especially of the PTO, caused by UPS bouncing it around on a
concrete floor. And, yes, to the other question, too. Rick Mish does an
exceptionally good job. He did the entire radio, electrical, cosmetic and
all. And, except for a small paint run on the upper edge of the panel,
Rick's work on the panel was flawless and of exceptional quality. The
lettering and knobs were especially good. I paid Rick $1000.00 for the
radio plus the restoration, and I am convinced that he shipped me a radio
worth every bit of that and then some. The fact that UPS turned it into a
$700.00 radio enroute was no fault of Rick's. I have since then acquired
two more of these radios plus two of the SP-600 and the necessary test
equipment to do my own restoration. I'm looking forward to it as soon as I
can get my cat to give me back my workbench. So, I may be asking some of
you guys who have a lot of experience for advice from time to time.
Bill K.
