No arguments here, John.  I don't think it's overkill.

I have to laugh at the high end restoration jobs on radios like your
Stromberg-Carlson where they hide the new caps by wrapping them in the old
wax electrolytic shells.  (Let's make it look like the original fire hazard
it used to be.)
