Greetings Everyone,

After trying for over 3 years to get a R-390A I got a R390 instead, the
price was right. Someone here in a government agency added two switches
am/ssb, I would like to restore the radio to original condition. That
includes reworking the front panel etc. It has tubes in the power supply
and a 3TF7. BTW I am still looking for a R-390A. :-)

I have some questions, it seems logical that I will need a Tube tester, I
would
prefer a mutual conductance tester, I'm told these are more useful. I do not
know which model etc is a good one, I know only one model TV-2 but from my
observation it is darned expensive especially when you consider every US
dollar
cost me nearly $2 Aust. I need to pragmatic in this matter.

Therefore I am seeking the advice of the group. Please advise me.
Does anyone have a pdf file copy of the manuals for the GRC-129, as mine
were
lost when a virus attacked my computer. It appears these are no longer on
our
favourite DOD web site.

I also need a source of plugs so I can make module extenders or test leads
if
you wish. I have some experience in working on Collins avionics and these
are
an invaluable tool.
I guess that will do for now. I wish you well for the Easter.
