Hollow State News had an article (...Issue 34, article by Charles Taylor)
about performing the alignment with the calibrator and "off the air" signals.
The only tricky part was the variable IF. I have done it in a pinch and it
works. His procedure does everything except the 455 kHz (excuse me.. "kc")
IF. Reprints were (used to be, may still be) available from Ralph Sanserino
