Sigh on! In Vietnam the US Army left stacks of R-390As out in the mud and
rain---for weeks and months on end. There's no telling whatever became of
them.

I can attest to that. The MARS shack at Osan AB (K-55) was
dumping all their R-390 and R-390A receivers into a Dumpster.
I asked about this, and was told that I could have as many as
I wanted. I had turned my hold baggage in the previous day, for
return from TDY at Osan, and so couldn't do a damn thing.
Even then I knew how good they were. *sigh*
