Do NOT use a digital meter without a one meg resistor in series with the 
test lead.  VTVM's contemporary with the R-390 had a 1-meg resistor in the 
DC probe.  If it is not there, the lead loads the test point and you either 
kill the oscillator or get erroneous readings.
