no, they are not the same, not even close.  De-Ox-Id is more like WD-40
(let's not start a thread on that).  It is Kerosene, Mineral Oil, and at
least once upon a time, Perchloroethylene.  I have a bottle that I got
about 5-6 yrs ago in CA, with the CA cancer warning label on it.
