Oh no! I read the ENTIRE post!!! Is there a cure for this? How long do I
need to breathe tube-heated air before my brain is fully cleansed? Do I
need to sacrifice a virgin 26Z5W?

Scott,

I am so sorry, I tried to warn you.

You will need at least 4 hours over your R390/A
a little less over the R390.
I guess I'll have to schedule a 4-hour session since I don't have a non-A.

Do not sacrifice a virgin tube.
That does not work.
Good. I only have one spare 26Z5W.

Find a least three gassy tube and
roast them over a proper zippo flame.
I'll have to get a Zippo now...

When you get the blue glow out of all three tubes
you will be "clear".
Can I be just a little opaque?

What's a tubester?
A Tubester is/was a solid-state replacement for hollow-state devices (read: tubes). I know many Collins 75-series rigs were done this way in decades past. I couldn't find the line-up for my old 75S-1, but I'm pretty sure all the tubes in that rig had tubester replacements available. The commonness of the 6DC6 would lead me to believe there are tubesters available for it as well, but I might be wrong.

What say ye, list?

(Aren't there "tubesters" for the 6DC6?)

Roger
