I honestly can't see any reason for your surprise. 

This was, as you said, in your _dentist's_ waiting room. 

Odds are that your dentist subscribes to this at home. 
After all, he's not driving a "beater" to and from work. 

My brother's a trauma surgeon. He has a whole office of people
dedicated to burning his money, with an office manager and all.
