Well, I have over 20,000 hours pilot time maybe 4 or 5,000 deadhead on
the cushions lot of time as a flight line mechanic/electrican/radio man,
when my last audiogram at American Univ. in Beirut my cutoff was about
17,600 in 78. I delivered 10 HU-16 Grumman Albatros aircraft from Tucson
to Brindisi, Italy at 148 Knots/ Out of over 350 types of planes that I
have flown, the HU-16 and PV2/B-34 have to be without a doubt the
nosiest plane bar none that I have ever been in. The B-25 and B-26 are
super quiet compared to the above types. They were both equipped with
noise canceling head phones and lip mic's/O2 mic's.
I can hear and feel the idiots driving up and down my street for 2 to 4
blocks, must have 2 to 300 Watt amps.
One of the local audiophools joints hs monster cable for $6.00 a foot
if you buy 100 feet. Also gold plated connectors. I swear when you walk
up to the place the front windows push in and out an inch or more.
Called Speaker City. Inside the sound rooms has to be 10 times louder,
when they open the doors it kills the level. Thank goodness. You look in
the through the windows and these idiots are out of it. A salesman said
they had 1000 watts per channel with 5 channels in one room.
