I tried to get an R-390A from armyradio - but the shipping was going to
cost as much as the radio, and the radio was going at about 3X the local
price. Its a nice site and I like their background info.

I am busy "restoring" a Murphy B40 ex HMS Collingwood. They are very
heavy indeed, but quite nice to work on. The set seems to be very
sensitive in spite/because of strange tubes used throughout and a turret
tuner. Only problem I haven't managed to solve is slight backlash in the
tuning drive (its a chain drive!!! going to a gearbox.) Like the RA-17,
everything is cast metal.  If you can find a B40, I'm sure you'll enjoy
it.
