Ross, how far off frequency is the standard? Do you have any means of generating 5 MHz and injecting it? I don't recall if there is an external reference input or not.
The RT-618, you should be able to see the output on a scope or power meter (with appropriate attenuation) to see if you're getting about 100mW (20dB) out of it. It you are then it is probably the 3007. If not, then it's the RT.

Subject: Re: [R-1051] Six pack attack
Hello and season's greetings, I have a URC-35(A) that was working perfectly until it stopped transmitting. I have the large fold out manual which is full of schematics (beautifully done!!) but I'm having some trouble understanding the signal flow. Are there any gurus here that may have a block diagram showing signal flow or even possibly a set of extenders?? I'm not sure why I think this is a 35A, but the transceiver is a RT-618A/URC. I am using it with an AM 3007/URT. One anomaly I noticed was the 5 mhz frequency standard was off frequency and turning the trimmer cap didn't effect the frequency at all!. Is it possible that the 6 pack won't function if the frequency is out of tolerance too far??
I have to admit that it's been many months since I last had a chance to look at it, but I miss using this thing. I used to get stellar audio reports with it (the transmit bandwidth on ssb is 6khz which translates into super audio!!) It would be nice to have some known good modules to substitute to isolate the problem. I have several junker AM3007's here and one T-827 and an RT-618 for parts. I don't think the modules from the 618 are the same as the "A". Any help is welcome!! THANKS!! Ross 73 W1EKG
