First off, anyone who likes the R-1051, URC-35 or the URT-23 has no clue what a light radios is! We should be use to radios that are heavy. Starting to think that the government buys radios by weight and not for performance. This is not just limited to the old General Dynamics stuff but the next generation of Harris and Sunair radios like the URC-94, RF-350K and the Sunair 9000 family of radios I have in the shop are now just a heavy as the old stuff if not more. Have not seen any of the Joint radio stuff but somehow think it will be heavy too.
The thing today is shipping, you can get to a place where you are paying more for shipping then the radio itself. And that’s where the Hamfest come in, unfortunately looks like there are less around and only the big ones are worth the effort to drag set out. Dayton or Xenia is coming and that’s worth the trouble and some of the smaller regionals may be of value like FrostFest, otherwise what are you going tpo do with all this stuff?

Hi
The *real* risk is that we all read one of these great posts and mark our calendars for next year. We all show up and try to sell 129,586 lb of “good stuff” at the same location…..
