Yes, that works fine. No idea, since this is what I expected, I could not
find that before.

Is there a way to defeat the power line interlock other than pushing down
on the switch assembly? I am used (in other systems) to being able to pull
on nominal push interlocks to defeat but that does not be an option here.

Couple things you got to have to work on the radio. First you will need a
signal generator to inject 500 Kc into the output of the turret assembly.
That will tell you that you're IF, Audio and all that sort of stuff is
working. Also by default if the USB/LSB works your time base is good. Second
is a scope that reads frequency, or if your smart you can determine
frequency vs time, I am not that smart but have a scope that displays
frequency on the screen and takes place of the frequency counter. This will
help with determining what's going on with the six pack. Last and what's
really useful is a second receiver to swap modules with. That makes
everything easy! Think the other thing to look at is to confirm that all the
mechanical alignment is correct. That can be a task on that radio but not
impossible. Maybe plan a trip to someone who has a working receiver to see
how the systems all fit together and try doing a couple things like
injecting IF and the like at that time so you
get a feel of what it's like and where your radio may be failing. Things
I have seen as issues is the mechanical alignment and muting interlock and
the receiver protection on the RF input of the radio. Also dont overlook the
stupid things like is your turret turning? Do the two tubes check good? And
do you have the HV (B+) for the tubes?
Good luck.

Ray:
Thanks for the posting;
As a CTM, I did not get training on R-1031, but Nick has provided me copies
of the class notes.
I recently acquired a R-1051B, characterized as blows fuses. But that turned
out to be mis-direction. No fuses blow, but all I get out of the headphone
jack is white noise , controllable by both AF and RF gain controls.
So I am starting in "Troubleshooting-101", to see how many bad things I will
find.
