The 1980's comms upgrades on the battleships included stacks of R-1051s
plus 3 ea. AN//URR-74 (W-J 8718) which are great bandcruisers and cover VLF.

My favorite setup is in the Perry class frigates built in the mid-1980s
with six R-1051G for HF, one URR-74 for VLF, and one time-warping R-390A
