OK I see the comparison to a ham transceiver and these are not. Yes fixed
frequency they are. Having used them in the Navy they were just there. If
no signal then the signal wasn't there. Took the frequency question out of
the communications question and that made sense.
But what a pain for general listening.
Funny you mention the T827s and URT23s. Almost picked one up 20 years ago.
Glad I didn't. Sure couldn't move one of them today.
