[R-1051] Fwd: I have a working R-1051

Good job! Keep digging.

I added a series resistor to dim my lamps and extend their life. I have not read up on previous LED conversions,
but if you're willing to use surface-mount parts, I can attest that the Philips "Luxeon 3535 HV" series, available
in a 24V version, are REALLY bright even at just a few mA. (I'm using them in another project.)
Should need nothing but a series dropping resistor. $0.75 each at DigiKey.
I'd mount a pair back to back on a chip of PCB material and stick the PCB into the hole.

Nick,

I replaced the RF turret motor today and gave the turret contacts a squirt
of deoxit. It is now switching bands like it's supposed to. There are many
other things to do to it, but at least it's not a door stop.

Do you know if anyone has retrofired the dial lamps with LED's yet?

Jim
