[R-1051] Update - Pretty Much Working

Thanks, Al, I bookmarked it this time.

Although they're both good references, we're talking about
two different manuals. My fault not yours.

The one I mentioned in my original post, Navships 0967-034-2000,
is "Repair of AN/WRC-1 and R-1051/URR 2N Modules", hosted
by Andy Moorer at www.jamminpower.com/main/r1051.html .
It contains instructions for, among other things, taking
apart the 1MC synth.

Your manual is TO-31R2-2URR-221C, "Supplement, Technical Manual,
Radio Receiver R-1051B/URR and R-1051C/URR" . It is
dated 15-May-1972, and replaces two earlier similarly-named
Supplements from 1968 and 1964 respectively.

This Supplement is a change package for
NAVELEX 0967-LP-970-9010.pdf (which I got from
Andy's site). NAVELEX describes the R-1051 plain.
As modified by the Supplement, it describes the R-1051C
instead. (Although the title page says "B", it's never
mentioned again.)

By the way, Figure 5-93 (100cps Synthesizer Electronic
Subassembly, Right Side, Component Location) shows the
cordwood-construction flip-flops mentioned in March 2007
by Dennis McLaughlin. He has a 100cps module made with
Fairchild MicroLogic RTL IC's. My guess is, Dennis
has a D or E module while John Schmitz has an
A, B, or C. (F, G, and H are card cage not six-pack.)

Francesco Ledda has a photo of an R-1051A. I've also
seen photos of an R-1051B and an R-1051C. Aside from
the C's black front panel, I don't remember seeing any
differences. Are there any? I have this notion that
they are all the same, just the A was made by Elmer,
the B by Bendix, and C by General Dynamics. Right?

Thanks,
Dave Wise
