[R-1051] R-1051 Off Frequency

If only one band is off frequency, It could be a lazy crystal in the megacycle synthesizer module. These crystals are hit with a signal derived from the synthesizer and master oscillator. These crystals are installed around a motorized rotary switch and are difficult to access. My 14 mhz band was off 10 khz, all others were fine. I installed a 100 pf silver mica cap in series with one of the crystal leads. It worked for me. This remedy appears in one of the early issues of Electric Radio Magazine where Walt Hutchens describes the R-1051b.
