John,
Sure will. I think I have the conversion all mapped out. Basically it looks
like all I have to do is supply the following to the translator to make it
work
For 500:
Freq Control Line (J12/P1 Pin 14) = Ground
Z1 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 11) = No Connection just hangs open
Z2 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 17) = +4v
Z4 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 13) = +4v
Loop Control Line (J12/P1 Pin 19) = +4v
For 000:
Freq Control Line (J12/P1 Pin 14) = No Connection just hangs open
Z1 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 11) = +4v
Z2 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 17) = No Connection just hangs open
Z4 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 13) = No Connection just hangs open
Loop Control Line (J12/P1 Pin 19) = No Connection just hangs open
For Vernier:
Freq Control Line (J12/P1 Pin 14) = Variable Voltage from Vernier
Z1 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 11) = +4v
Z2 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 17) = No Connection just hangs open
Z4 Code Line (J12/P1 Pin 13) = No Connection just hangs open
Loop Control Line (J12/P1 Pin 19) = Ground
The above is my interpretation from reading the schematic. I will test it
before I commit to actually making the changes, if it works I will let the
group know. The change will require some rewiring around the CPS switch and
etching a replacement board for the A11 500 cps control board. My intent is
to keep everything so that I can reverse it as well in case the correct
6-pack happens along my path. So I plan to document the change well and will
put it up on the web. That is if it all works, fingers crossed.
Thanks all
John

Hi John,
If you get it to work, please post it. I would bet that those of us that
have the plain Jane R-1051 would be interested.
By the way, as most will have noticed, there is a T-827B (2-30Mhz 100Mw
exciter) on the place.
Cheers,
John WD5ENU/A45XV

Hi John,
Did you get any replies? If not, I think I have it in a manual, will
get a look & scan it for you after supper.
