Okay, new member checking in.  I have R-1051B S/N A-3173.

I can't answer the question about the sixpack.  I have a vague memory 
that there's a lot of interchangability, but my vague memory is probably 
vague-er than most here.

I'd be willing to bet that it's perfectly safe to try; if it won't work 
then it won't work but no harm will be done.  Too obvious a mistake for 
the military not to think of.  However if you have to buy and ship the 
-G sixpack, that's not much help.
