[R-1051] R-1051F ????

Greetings,
The internals of the receivers are all but identical...if you have a
picture of any of the R-1051 series...that's pretty much what they look
like...all of them. There was a change to the design of the Sixpak module
from a frame with the six separate modules attached to one big module.
(actually a card cage..used on the G and H models)
The test fixtures were either crushed buried or who knows...no one has any
of them.. To my knowledge only one fellow has one test fixture for one of
the modules. For us troubleshooting is done with extender cables that you
will probably have to build yourself from salvaged module and chassis
connectors. The plain unsuffixed model is the easiest to work on from the
perspective of parts availability. The IC's in the later models are all but
non-existent. The discrete components in the Plain model are still
available.
As far as RF input level...I'm not sure...since it's a tube front end I
would expect it to be fairly rugged....a few watts probably wouldn't hurt
it.
A plain manual is downloadable from www.jamminpower.com right now that's all
that I know of out there....We should have some of the later manuals scanned
and available on that site later this year....they are quite thick. I will
tell you the manuals don't cover a lot of component level work....You kind a
have to dig it out...
The radio's were designed to module swap on the ships...don't know of any
depot manuals...
I know all this probably didn't help much... but that's all I have right
now..maybe someone else can fill in the blanks...
