Yes that is true but the belts can be had by a company in NY I have 3 spares
.
I believe that the belts cost 15.00 not to bad and really not to bad to
install if you have done it a few times.
I am completely stumped on the one I am trouble shooting at this point.
I have 2 of them one is working ok but not really well I think it has some
type of AGC problem but is working at least.
The other one I just can't figure out yet might be some type of wiring
problem is just motor boats so to speak .
All modules have been swapped with the working one and they all work in the
other receiver.
The funny part is even with the modules swapped from bad receiver to good
receiver and I do mean ever module the good receiver displays some type of
AGC problem. But I not to concerned about the AGC problem right now I just
want to get the none working one working.
The non working receiver looks brand new inside and out and yes I had to
replace the belt it didn't have one .
I have aligned the synthesizer with the belt and switch assembly to no avail
I have made sure it ohms out just like the working one but all it does is go
pop pop pop and that is a slow pace not a real fast pace.
If by any chance you have any Idea please let me know I figure there are
plenty of these receivers out there in the same boat.
By the way most of the modules are really easy to fix they have at least 100
2n2222 transistors and are really easy to find and cheap to buy.
Matt

that unit is a marine corp. gem not navy but I am familiar with them but not
like the 1051s but you are right the construction is similar I understand
the band switching belts are the main drag on them
