[R-1051] frequency standard module

Hi Steve and group,

I checked the "D" manual and also looked at a Freq. Standard that I
received from Fair a while back. Mine was unserviceable. It had been
cannibalized for the connector and cables. The crystal oven is cylindrical
with the heater wound around the outside of a metal vessel. All of this
slides into a cast aluminum housing. The A1 board has probably 8 or 10
transistors most are 2N1225's. The osc and oven control board is mounted
below the metal vessel that the crystal is in and sandwiched between a cover
that attaches to the top of the casting. This all matches the pictures and
board layouts in the "D" manual. Yours may be a later model that moved to
Silicon transistors instead of Germanium (2N1225). I would be happy to send
you this one if you think you could use some of the oven control parts.

I have found if the oven is not working you can't get it on freq without a
lot of tweaking and it is not nearly as stabile as when at 185 F (85C).

You were also right in that there seems to be no oven temp. adjustment
pot.....kind of strange.

Hope that helps...

Cecil...
