[QSL-Managers] SASE or SASE not...

Claude,
I am a pretty busy QSL manager. I would say that stateside hams usually only
send an SASE. They will sometimes include a little something extra (like $1
or a few extra stamps) but this does not happen that often. One factor that
will effect how many "donations" are received is the rareness of the QSL
being requested. Whenever I get a little something extra, I always include a
"TNX" note with their QSL card as I really do appreciate their courtesy.
So, I would say that you are seeing a very normal response.
No, you will NOT get rich being a QSL manager! It is a labor of love.

Subject: [QSL-Managers] SASE or SASE not...

Hi all,
I have just (2 months) start qsl manager for several 6y5 stations.
I am originally from 6y5 Jamaica
I get a lot of request for qsl from stateside hams. They send SASE, but
when I qsl to stateside managers I send $1.00 with envelope and return
label or IRC with envelope and return label.
Am I been overly generous or the rest of the hams been cheap?
I always thought that the ONLY time you send only SASE is if the station
is NOT DX, i.e. you live in the same country that you qsling (USA to
USA)
please give me your insights.
please don't misunderstand......
I did not take the job to get RICH, I thought that I could help to speed
up the qsl process, and the possibility of fame...hi hi
Thanks
Claude
