Hi all,
Well, my portable QRP project will soon be ready for on-the-air action. I
have ordered the gear, including an Icom IC-703 and the Outbacker Joey
Backpacker antenna. It should arrive by tomorrow and I'll be ready to get
it up and running on Sunday, if possible.
I'm going to need local assistance with a couple of aspects of this project.
First, though I am quite competent installing cards and hard drives into
PC's, I am not comfortable taking apart the radio to install the voice
synthesizer board, so I'm going to need to locate some assistance with this.
Second, I purchased a power supply for this rig, and will need assistance
connecting the red and black wires for correct DC polarity. Third, I
believe I'm going to need some assistance learning the basics of this rig.
And, finally, fourth, I'll need a bit of help with the Joey to understand
how to make the band tuning adjustments.
I live in Tempe, Arizona. I'd be hugely appreciated if I could find someone
in the area who could assist me in the near future to complete this setup.
Thanks and 73.
