QCWA Bulletin 2021-007 - QCWA QSO Party Discontinues

At the Annual Board of Directors Meeting held on May 13, 2021, the QCWA 
Board resolved to discontinue the annual QCWA QSO Party.

After many years of decreasing participation, the Board decided to 
create a new operating event. The Board will soon introduce a new QCWA 
annual Special Event operation, possibly coinciding with our anniversary 
date of December 5th, using our memorial callsign W2MM.

W2MM was the callsign of Earl R. Thomas, SK, who was President of QCWA 
from 1965-68, and is one of two memorial callsigns held by QCWA.

The QCWA QSO Party has a rich history, originating when local chapters 
first hosted QSO Parties. QCWA QSO Parties were once held twice a year, 
in the spring and fall.
