QCWA Bulletin 2016-002 - QCWA Scholarship Chair Appointment - Sharon 
May, KA2TNK

The QCWA Board welcomes QCWA member #34490, Sharon May, KA2TNK, as 
the new QCWA Scholarship Chair, replacing Tim Donovan, W4CLK, who 
recently announced his desire to retire after serving for three years.

May was first licensed in 1983, and holds a General Class license. 
She and her husband Al, WA2KFV, live in the hamlet of Bridgeport, NY.

May is past secretary/treasurer of QCWA Chapter 29, and currently the 
secretary, membership chair, event planner and sunshine girl for the 
Liverpool Amateur Repeater Club, Inc., (LARC); a member of the 
American Legion Amateur Radio Club; a Life Member of the Ladies 
Auxiliary VFW Bridgeport, NY; a member of the American Legion 
Auxiliary Unit 787, Cicero, NY; a Life Member of the North Area 
Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Inc., (NAVAC); a volunteer examiner for 
ARRL and W5YI, and participates as a member of the ARES/RACES team.

May grew up in Liverpool, NY and graduated from Liverpool High 
School. She worked as an executive assistant for a large automotive 
after market association, while at the same time, was secretary for 
the North Syracuse Chamber of Commerce for 20 years. During that time 
May was elected the first female president in the 38 years of the 
North Syracuse Chamber of Commerce.

May recently retired after working part-time for 19 years for the 
Town of Cicero in planning and development for the township. She 
enjoys gardening, crossword puzzles, cooking and baking.
