[QCWA Hotlist] Orlando HamCation 2014

All too often we get bad news and complaints about various issues; I want to tell you about a wonderful experience I had this past weekend at the Orlando HamCation.  Those of you who were there know what I am about to say but for those of you who were not, here goes with the hope you may consider joining us next year.  To begin with this was the best my wife (kd4htb) and I have experienced in the last 20 years that we have been attending this event.  Attendance at our booths was the  best we have experienced.  Only the HamCation people will know the overall figures.  I especially want to thank all the volunteers (and I am going to guess there were about 150) who made this possible.  Many were QCWA members.  It may not be known by everyone but some of the proceeds from this annual event are distributed to various clubs and that income does help Chapter 45 pay for the two booths in a great location each year.  When I looked at the TV and saw what was going on up north, the slight rain on Friday & Saturday didn't seem so bad.  Finally, I want to personally thank those volunteers within the QCWA Family (and some who are not members) for their generous allocation of their hours to Chapter 45; this definitely helps pay for our annual booths and this year we were so impressed that we paid in full for our 2015 booths on the last day of HamCation.
