[QCWA Hotlist] QCWA Reminders and Orlando HamCation Info

Hello everyone,

I know I sent the first part out a couple weeks ago, but it still 
holds true.


Just a couple of reminders ---

If you have not sent your annual report in to headquarters, it is time
to do so.  Actually, it is past time!  To do this, simply go to your
member page, look at the chapter section (the part outlined in
yellow/amber), look under the box with the officers listed, and there
is a spot to click to file the annual report.  It is very easy.
Actually much easier than in the past! Remember, you must file an
annual report to remain an active chapter.

As a reminder, if you have a change of officers, you can notify us any
time that takes place.  You do not need to wait until it is time for
the annual report.  You can do it anytime. Please send an e-mail to
our webmaster webmaster at qcwa.org and also to myself
ExecAdmin at qcwa.org.  Thanks.

We are still looking for e-mail addresses for members.  This is
especially important with the new monthly color eJournal.  Some of you
have done a terrific job.  We have about a dozen chapters with 100% of
their members with e-mail addresses listed.  Thanks very much.  There
are many other chapters only missing one or two, so I assume that it
likely because those people do not have e-mail addresses.  Thanks to
you also.  However there are some chapters that have very few e-mail
addresses listed.  Please try to get those and send to me at
ExecAdmin at qcwa.org.

Orlando HamCation Info --

On a very positive note, I would like to let you know how things went 
at the large Orlando HamCation this past weekend.  Our "sale" of 
memberships has been steadily increasing at HamCation, so we set a 
goal that would assume that we would increase at the same rate.  I am 
happy to report that we exceeded that goal by almost 30%.  People are 
liking what we are doing, and they are proving it with their 
pocketbooks.  At the forums, I have been saying that we need retention 
and recruitment.  We are getting both.  I am seeing people renew their 
memberships that expired in 1990!  Of course most are not that far 
back, but you get the idea.  We are also getting new members.  I am 
finding that in many cases this is because of a little extra "push" 
from the chapters.  We appreciate that very much.  Please keep it up!

Just FYI, on Friday only (which is normally a fairly slow day) we had 
almost as much income as we had for the entire hamfest two years ago. 
  Thanks for all of your help.

If the response from headquarters is a bit slower than normal, please 
keep in mind that we are working our way thru the normal items from 
being away at HamCation for four days, trying to get thru about 3000 
e-mails, plus the extra applications that we received at HamCation.  I 
expect it will take about a week to catch up.  Your patience is 
appreciated.
