Re: Student book loan programHi Everybody,
It's my pleasure to present the following program that originated with QCWA Chapter 165 in York County PA. Thanks to Ray Schaub, W3AXC for forwarding it to HQ.
If your chapter doesn't have the dollars it takes to run a program like this, please present it to another radio club in your area.
the Chapter 165 STUDENT BOOK LOAN PROGRAM
At the June meeting we decided to develop a program whereby the Chapter would provide ARRL license manuals to young people that were enrolled in a class working toward a ham license . We received requests for 4 books during August. It became apparent that we needed some sort of guidelines as to who would be eligible for these books. At the August meeting we set out these guidelines. I want to have some feedback from the membership regarding this preliminary set of rules. Do you have any additions or corrections ? If not let me know if you agree.
1. The books will be ARRL license manuals.
2. The student must be enrolled in a class or must be under the tutelage of an Elmer that is a member of a club.
3. The books will be on loan until the student becomes licensed then they will become property of the student.
4. The student will make bi-monthly reports to the chapter via email as to their progress.
5. In the event the test is failed after six months or the test is not taken the books will returned to the chapter or purchased by the student.
