[QCWA Hotlist] QCWA Chapter 7 Spring Dinner

Hi All,

    Here is your  call to dinner! Set your PDA's, mark your calendars or 
stick a Post-It on your  nose -- whatever it takes!

                                "The R/O - Spark to  Satellite"

    Our speaker  will be David J. Ziskin, AG6E, Dave has been an Extra for 
over 30 years and has  been in electronics in one capacity or another for 
over 50 years. He is serving  as the Relief Radio - Electronics Officer aboard 
the R/V Knorr or the R/V  Atlantis. These research vessels are owned by the 
U.S. Navy - Office of Naval  Research and operated for the Woods Hole 
Oceanographic Institute. Dave  previously served in similar positions aboard 
various tankers and container  ships. He claims to be getting ready to retire 
permanently, probably at the  prodding of his lovely XYL, but I'll have to see 
it to believe  it!

    Our  secretary Bill, N6RV, is working on a prize pool. Be sure to bring 
your 401K,  pension check or your girlfriend's allowance and be prepared to 
spurge on  tickets!

    Another note  ---

        If anyone is due any of the awards or certificates offered by  
QCWA, PLEASE E-mail me way in advance of our  events to allow time to not 
disappoint. I would prefer getting these sent to me  or Bill for presentation 
instead of having them blindly mailed to the recipient.  That will better allow 
the recognition you are all due and just maybe we can  actually get some 
news and photos into the QCWA  Journal. Recognize that your coordinating staff, 
Bill, Rian and I,  received no transitional QCWA 101 training and are 
trying to take care of  business without benefit of radar. A little 
"communications" will certainly help  us serve you better!
