[QCWA Hotlist] Convention Status Reminder

Good Afternoon, Hot list members.  This is just a reminder that we are 
now inside the 3 month (180 day) window before the October 3 - 5th 
International Convention here at beautiful Virginia Beach.  How about 
that wonderful Journal cover with the pictures of some of the local 
Virginia Beach attractions!  Great job, Chuck, Jan, and Doug!

The convention web page has new material to be uploaded sometime this 
week in the Convention Updates pages, and you might take a look -- 
www.qcwa-ch119.org. 

Please let's try to minimize the negativism about the economy and gas 
prices, and etc. that seems to be permeating most of our conversations 
these days.  We won't advance the well being of the convention status if 
we talk down the possibilities.  Let's keep a good thought as we talk 
with those whom we influence:  QCWA members, local amateur radio club 
members, etc.  There is, after all, little that will pump up attitudes 
and create an atmosphere of good will than positive people spreading 
good information about things we all care about. 

Get out there and spread the good word among your own members.  We're 
always available to provide any follow-up information you or any of your 
members may wish to have.  Registrations are starting to come in at a 
faster pace, but we have not yet covered our base commitment for rooms 
to the hotel.  It IS still a bit early, but the sooner we get the ball 
rolling the better the whole experience will be.

Call or Write  if there is anything we can do to help you to influence 
those for whom you have responsibility.  Good luck to us all.
