Several people have expressed interest in making these adapters (or possibly versions thereof). Rather than responding for requests for information on an individual basis, I'll post copies of the information needed to manufacture and test the adapters on our website (www.treetopcircuits.com) in the coming weeks. This will include: 1. Schematic and pcb artwork files required to order boards from ExpressPCB. These will be the files we have used for production, except that the Treetop Circuits Canada lettering will be removed. They can be used as-is or edited using free software from ExpressPCB. 2. Excel Spreadsheets identifying all components, including DigiKey part numbers and/or manufacturers' part numbers. 3. Mechanical details for brackets, connectors, jigs, etc. 4. Information on testing. (we'll be keeping the test jigs so we can provide ongoing support to the adapters we built, but will include enough information to construct test jigs). I'll get this pulled together and posted as soon as possible, but it may take a few weeks due to other commitments. The time involved in getting into production (or even building one or two adapters for one's own use) is not insignificant. But the experience has been rewarding. I'm hoping that someone takes the plunge. It'll be interesting (though perhaps humbling) to see what improvements someone makes to my designs and methods. 73 Bob VE3TOU -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... His timing was perfect as it was right at the time for potential propagation.? You are fortunate to have Jerry/N4JR as your sorter as we know he will do an outstanding job.... As you know, I am the "Z" cards?sorter.... It appears the Sterling Park manager/NQ4K will forward cards to individual sorters on a more frequent basis.? One big box of cards arrived approximately every six months from CDXA....? I've already received a small batch of ZED cards from NQ4K... 73.....//Steve k4eu.steve at gmail.com k4eu at arrl.net On Thu, May 12, 2022 at 1:22 PM wrote: I just had an e-mail exchange with Jerry Rossano-N4JR over in Hollywood, Alabama, who has been sorting and distributing the single-letter "J", "O" and "R" prefix cards for as long as I can recall.? He offered this update on the 4th District: You probably heard that the two 4th area Bureaus combined into one.? I took on the double-letter "O"s and "R"s, added to my original single-letter prefix "J", "O" and "R". Shouldn't be a problem as the QSL business has dropped off considerably since the advent of LoTW.? Looks like the new regime will be shipping me cards at smaller intervals than before so that?should make sorting a little easier. The dramatic decrease in physical QSLing undoubtedly reduced the need for two bureau operations in the 4th district.? I see that the "winner" is the *Sterling Park Amateur Radio Club* Call Box 599 Sterling, VA 20167 So, if you have a 4th district call sign and use the bureau system for incoming DX cards, the guy who sorts and mails out those cards to you may have changed.? If you had sent SASE's or dinero to either of the former two bureaus, I reckon they will be forwarded to the new sorter is necessary.? We know that Tom-KN4ONE was surprised when he received a QSL packet from Jerry several weeks back. BTW, with regard to the outgoing bureau service, you know that it?is just for QSLs to DX stations.? However, there is one exemption.? If that DX station has a QSL manager in the US, you can use the bureau to send a card to that manager.? Over the years, I have received a number of stateside QSLs via the bureau for some of the DX stations for whom I manage QSLs. 73, Jack-W4JS ================================================ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
