I just learned about Pete's passing from the post below that I copied &
pasted from the SKCC (Straight Key Century Club) Email Reflector:

Just learned today that Pete Spots, NM5PS/N1ABS/W1PNS/KC1JB, #4853S has
become a Silent Key. He is in my log several times with each of his
callsigns, including K3Y/5. Very sad...

I worked Pete on 40 meters CW under his previous callsign of W1PNS when he
was living in Needum, MA back on January 15, 2011. I think he was operating
as K3Y/1 at the time because he volunteered as a K3Y SKCC Anniversary Event
station almost every year. Pete was QCWA membership # 34679 and he was
still a member of QCWA Local "Yankee Chapter 112" in Narragansett, Rhode
Island according to the list at https://www.qcwa.org/chapters-by-number.php ,
but listed as being in Warwick, Massachusetts on their website at
https://www.qcwa.org/chapter112.htm although he had lived in Edgewood, NM
since 2016.
