The first station that I operated was the Heath Kit SB102 at UTA.  The first rig that I owned was a Heath Kit HW-2036. The first HF radio that I owned is an ICOM-701.

More interesting to me was my introduction to Amateur Radio.  In about 1963, our next door neighbor was K5OSH, kilo-five-ocean-sierra-Honolulu . As I remember, he had added a room to the back of the house and across one end of the room was a lot of gear, mostly black as I recall.  All that I remember about the gear and his operating, was this squiggly green line that squiggled. I don’t remember him in a QSO, but I remember the green line.
