I've heard folks say that before the digital age, hams used to communicate
via a medium known as "radio."

Well, some of us are still doing it!  Chapters 46 (Founders, NYC) and 181
(Hudson Valley) have a weekly net on 3917, Sundays at 0815 local time.  We
use an analog protocol called "Lower Sideband" - it's easy to learn and
requires no special software :)

There's only a few of us left and we'd sure like to have you join our
friendly, light conversation.  NCS is Sy, W2NBT.

If you live west of NY, Chap 5 (Delaware Valley) also has an extremely
friendly net on 3917 at 0945 local.  NCS for Chap 5 is Doug, WA3DSP.
