[QCWA] Orlando HamCation

I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you who 
visited us at Orlando HamCation this past weekend.

We had lousy weather on Friday and Saturday, with cold temperatures 
and a very penetrating cold rain.  This resulted in a much lower 
attendance than normal.  The swap building had empty tables even after 
many from the tailgate area had moved inside.  Many years there has 
been a waiting list for tables, so this was quite a change. Sunday was 
the perfect FL sunny day with temps in the mid 70's, but of course 
many people had already left.

Even though attendance was down, the activity at the QCWA booth was 
high.  Preliminary info shows that we had virtually the same number 
and dollar amount of memberships as last year.  Considering the 
decrease in attendance, this was absolutely great! Last year was about 
double that of 2012.

We had at least as many members sign in, and we had a very good forum, 
even though members needed to go about a quarter mile in the lousy 
rainy weather to get to the forum building.

Thanks to Chapter 45 for help with the booth, with special thanks to 
Al and Pam LaPeter, W2AS and KD4HTB, plus our own management team and 
officers/directors Roberta Cohen, WA2FRW; Sue Simpson, N8AJU; Larry 
McCalvy, WA9JMO; Mort Cohen, WA2ARS; Jeff Beals, WA4AW; John Johnson, 
W3BE; and myself, Ken Simpson, W8EK.
