HI Jeff, I went all out and added an X-Lock VFO stabilizer ( read that a
microprocessor ) to my home built BC-458 VFO that drives my Central
Electronics CE 20A. It works quit well being stable to within a few Hz.
Next on the list ( a next fall & winter project of course ) is converting a
pair of ARC-5 transmitters for SSB linear amplifier service per the Surplus
Radio Conversion Manual Vol. 3. That will let the CE-20A play with the big
boys.... hi hi

Subject: [QCWA] What have you been up to lately?

Since the first of this year, I've had an ongoing project.
Part one was an antenna multi-coupler to allow several receivers
to share a singe antenna.
The second part was coming up with a wide band antenna that
doesn't need tuning, so that I could listen to several receivers
at the same time tuned to different frequencies.

For part one, a Maxim MAX4022ESG 14 pin SOIC chip turned out
to work quite well. With a small handful of parts, I have a 50 ohm
input and four 50 ohm outputs with 0 dB overall gain.
The bandwidth on that is close to 0.1 to 150 MHz.

For part two, I have been investigating the terminated folded dipole.
Being on a bit of a budget, this means "make your own" rather than
buy one for $300 or up.

I have something in the air currently, but it's not optimized yet. But
the results are promising.
