[QCWA] Slightly off topic, antenna sharing.

I know not all of you are amateur radio operators so you're in the
receive only mode.

But I think both groups here might have more than one receiver,
some of them quite heavy. ;-)

There was an article in QST a few years back for an antenna
distribution amplifier for sharing one antenna with multiple
receivers. Unfortunately, the IC used is no longer available.

I came up with an alternative, a Maxim MAX4022ESD soic chip
that seems to work just fine. You can cascade 8 of them an feed
up to 32 receivers with one antenna without any interference
from one receiver into another.

As a test, I put a single chip version together for a total of four
receivers. Overall results were satisfactory. -4dB of loss and a
relatively flat bandwidth from 0.1 to 150 MHz. Input level is
limited to +20 dBm simply because of the 1206 size termination
resistor I used.

email me for pix, schematics and specifications if you're interested.
