[QCWA] An interesting statistic site.

As those of you who have been following my comments about
antennas and such, I've put up two very different types recently.
1. An inverted-vee doublet fed with 450 ohm line and a tuner.
2. A terminated folded dipole.

So I decided to see "Well who's doing what better?"

A good method of getting the data is a web site called PSK
Reporter.

<http://pskreporter.info/pskmap.html>

I run one antenna using Ham Radio Deluxe with the DM780 in
the super browser mode and report what I hear to the web site.

After leaving it in the NSA "vacuum cleaner" mode for a week,
I switch antennas and run it again with the other system and
compare the results.

The last batch of testing was done on 14.070 MHz with PSK31
using the terminated folded dipole. 125' long and 20' above ground.

As to be expected, the doublet antenna with the tuner out-performs
the terminated folded dipole. But still, the performance of the
terminated folded dipole is better than expected.

Both antennas are close enough to the ground to function as NVIS
antennas. (Near Vertical Incident Skywave).
