[QCWA] What's on your bench?

A couple of weeks ago, I acquired a Motorola Maxtrac UHF radio.
These were new around 1994 or so.
Deaf as a post, no receive. I was tempted to not bother as it's a
mixture of discrete and surface mount parts, but being a bit
stubborn I took it apart to trouble shoot it.
Having decent test equipment is a plus.
Feed a UHF signal into the radio at 463.8500 MHz and use a
scope probe and a spectrum analyzer to follow the signal and
see where it disappears.
Well it made it all way down to 45.1 MHz at the "receiver sub-
assembly" IC. And apparently the 44.645 MHz 2nd LO crystal
died.
I ordered a new one. It arrived and I soldered it in this morning.
The radio is working good as new.
Looks like the used radio I bought to replace it is going to be a
nice spare now. It works too. ;-)
Some times you have a good day on the bench.
