The last printed issue of the magazine arrived here today. My eyes
bugged-out a bit when I read that Woody Guthrie had written "Route 66"
and that the tune had been changed a little for the early Sixties TV
show of the same name. The tunes weren't similar at all. The jazzy TV
show theme was written by composer/conductor Nelson Riddle. Woody
Guthrie had nothing to do with the "Route 66" first recorded by Nat King
Cole in 1946. That song was penned by Bobby Troup.

73 and Merry Christmas,

Dave Heil K8MN
