[QCWA] Ben Russell, N6SL

Info about Ben Russell, N6SL, net control station for the QCWA CW net 
on Wednesday evenings:

For those of you that might not know, Ben, N6SL, has been in the 
hospital.  I finally got to talk to Ben, and now have accurate 
information to pass along.

Apparently a week ago today he fell, but he considered this a minor 
fall, got up, and went about his normal routine.  On Thursday, he fell 
again, twice.  At this point he was dizzy and having trouble walking. 
  He went to the Timber Ridge Emergency Room, where they did a CT Scan 
and determined that he was bleeding between his skull and brain.  They 
made arrangements with the operating room at Munroe Regional Medical 
Center in downtown Ocala. The ambulance took him there where the 
doctor was ready to operate.  He had two holes drilled in his head -- 
one to let the fluid out, and the other to put saline solution in to 
push the fluid out.  Ben remarked that his haircut does not look too 
great, but he is feeling OK, and now starting to eat somewhat close to 
normal.

He was in the hospital until Sunday.  I am surprised that he was home 
that soon.  I talked to him on the phone last night for about half an 
hour.  He was very talkative, and sounded like normal on the phone.

Sue and I tried to visit him twice in the hospital.  Once he was 
asleep, and we did not want to wake him, and the second time he was 
already home.  I did not want to pass along incorrect or partially 
correct information, so waited until I had accurate data.

Ben will not be NCS on the CW net tonight, but I am sure he will be 
back soon.
