You've all heard about them, but how do they work?

How many have used the W2DU 50 Ohm 1:1 balun?
Ever wonder what is inside? Three identical windings
in series. A "distributed auto-transformer."

(1)-uuu-(2)-uuu-(3)-uuu-(4)

Coax is connected to (1), shield to (3)
The balanced load is connected to (2) and (4)

This is a voltage type balun.
