[QCWA] Cost cutting

Hi all,

Don, W7WLL, suggests cutting part of the Journal to reduce costs (see
below). And I agree that our quarterly Journal is likely to be a major
expense to HQ.

But my question might be rather, "Can we eliminate the Journal
altogether?" The paper version that is. A high-quality Journal could
still be produced, and more content could actually be added in an
electronic edition, instead of less.

I'm sure there would be opposition to this idea, as the Journal is
certainly one of the benefits our our membership dues. But there is
plenty of opposition to the idea of an Associate Member status also. Yet
there seems to be a serious need to raise or conserve funds.

Though we are an old-timer organization, this is still the 21st century,
and we are living in an electronic age. I for one would be glad to
receive the Journal in digital format rather than print.
