All -

Its less than 6 months to the big weekend!   While we have a series of tours planned for those of you unfamiliar with the many attractions surrounding Rhode Island’s capital city, we are also planning a complete slate of speaker presentations over the course of the weekend. While most any topic is welcome, due to the mix of our attendees (non-hams too) we offer a list of recommended topics:

- Stealth Operations: Antennas, QRP, or Overview of Stealth Ops experiences & resources

- Use and experiences with Internet-Based Ham Radio programs, e.g. CQ100

- Individual or Chapter support to school programs, Scouting, Elmering or support to local clubs

- Remote Station Control/Operations

- "HAM radio in my life" - Example, we had several wonderful talks in recent conventions from folks that have used HAM radio in their professional or retired lives.  We had an MD talk on several trips he made to S.Africa on medical aid expeditions and shared just how important HAM radio became on those trips.

- DXpeditions

- Vintage radio restoration

- RACES, EMS Public Service Experiences

You get the idea. Each presentation is limited to 1 hour and a projector, screen and microphone/podium will be provided. If you would like to be "part of the convention", please send an email to Tony Manna, WA1ENO, Convention Activities Chairman, providing title and a brief description of your talk.

Please note that some of these talks will be scheduled during the tours. We are making every effort to offer something for everyone, even members and non-members familiar with the area. Chapter officers receiving this request, please pass along to your members. All forum topics identified by the next Journal deadline of 15 April will be listed in the summer edition.

Thank You All - The Convention Board and I are looking forward to meeting all of you and hosting the best convention yet!
