This is the first of a series of general announcements and periodic updates regarding this year's QCWA National Convention in Warwick, RI on 9-11 September.  Its unfortunate, however, that I have to report a kink in the hotel reservation system in this first installment.  We have had reports that the 800 number provided by the Crowne Plaza Hotel is difficult to use.  Its automated and does not respond to verbal commands as it should.  The Crowne Plaza at the Crossings in Warwick, RI has provided a number of alternative methods for making your hotel reservations. Please use the most convenient and DO NOT USE the 800 number as published in the Journal or on the QCWA website: 



1.)  Dial Direct:  (401) 732-6000.  A human will answer the call and take good care of you. 



2.) Email Direct:  Reservations at providenceri.crowneplaza.com   Admittedly less human but still a very convenient approach. 



3.) On the Web:  URL: http://www.CrowneHotelWarwick.com , please use the group code: "QCW" 



For #1 and #2 please be sure to ask for the QCWA convention rate! 



This information will be updated in the next Journal and on the QCWA web page. 



The convention committee and the Crowne Plaza at the Crossings apologize for any inconvenience this situation may have caused you.  Looking at the bright side, better to identify and rectify the problem now before the big rush. 



By the way .  .  . please take advantage of the early bird convention registration fee and send in your registration prior to April 1!
